TAPESTRY traveled to Ireland in August 2011!! We visited the Irish Traditional Music Archive in Dublin, where we listened to collections of traditional music and researched Irish Harpers. During our travels, we heard many exceptional musicians, from Buskers on the streets, to groups playing in the pubs. We also heard a few harpists and some particularly fine button accordion players, too. One of the harpists was playing Canon In D, (not really very Irish but cool none-the-less!). We also visited the Dingle Peninsula, where we saw an island known as the ‘sleeping giant’. Michael and friend Mark became "Certified Guinness Pourers" as part of our tour of the Guinness Brewery and we saw the bridge in Dublin, which is shaped like a harp! Here is a photo of us at the Cliffs of Moher, Ireland’s most visited attraction, where there are supposed to be puffins, but we did not see any, however we did listen to a French harpist there as well as a man who calls himself “Benny the Busker”, you can actually find him all over the internet! Michael took many scenic photos, possibly for our next CD cover!

Two lessons per month come with each rental (to be scheduled at mutually agreeable times with Denise) and if you are really jazzed about it you can schedule more lessons for an additional fee.
